This will be the short story for now...promise to give detailed birth story later.  And I will post pictures once I am home...the wifi here at the hospital is not very cooperative.

 

Madison Claire was born last night (May 6th) at 9:09 pm.  She weighed 5 lbs 6 oz...which is great for a 34 weeker!  She is 18 inches long.  So precious and tiny!  She is the tiniest baby I have ever seen or held.

She is breathing on her own...needing no help at all.  And she is feisty!  She is keeping her nurse on her toes.    When they mess with her, she lets them know that she is not pleased.  That's my girl!

I had a fairly short labor...started pitocin at noon and she came at 9 pm.  I also went epi free...but I did have staidol around 8:45 pm.  Which made me very sleepy and I could barely keep my eyes open while giving birth to her.  The end was very quick.  They checked me at 8:15 pm and I was 4 cm dialted...an hour later she was here.
