NB stash help! kissaluvs or prefolds or both?

so far I have 4 lil joeys and 4 thirsties duo wrap covers. and 2 handmade wool soakers.

I was thinking of doing the $150 kissaluvs rental (24 kissaluvs, 3 months, you get $75 back when you return them).

I was also thinking of buying a dozen of the GMD prefolds to supplement the above.

should I just skip the rental and get more prefolds? 

I am a little worried that DH won't be able to handle the prefolds.

maybe I should get more lil joeys too? and just a few kissaluvs?

I want to keep this as simple as possible! 

any advice would be appreciated. thanks!!
