Washing machine tips!!!!

We are not PG yet but are not not trying!!!!  We are buying a new washer and dryer with our tax money, we know we want to use CD and are taking that into consideration when we buy a washer and dryer.  I was wondering if any of you ladies have and recommendations on what are good features to look for or maybe even a good brand or model.  I really want something that is energy efficient on small loads.  TIA!!!!!!!!  Hope I can join you ladies soon!!!!!!
