Tell me about your GM

GM newbie here with lots of questions... Would you be kind and answer a few? I am so tempted to get one for my DD  

What (fitted, one, night, simple etc) and how many do you have? 

How do you like it and how does it hold up to washes?

I know a lot of people use the fitteds at home without covers, do you?  If so, do you have to constantly keep an eye on and/or change very often?
