Converted a friend but now I need answers for her.

So a friend loved my CD's ( flips) and wants to try and she said her hubby wants her to as well so yay! Well she has two in diapers one is 4 months and the other is 20 months. How many will she need? She said she doesn't mind washing every night right now. Also what if she did a mix of pockets and covers? I am trying to convince her not to buy a big bulk of just one brand right now.
